Grambling State University’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts features an exhibition by Jeremy Hughes in Dunbar Gallery. The exhibition, entitled "Something Wicked This Way Comes," investigates the changing perspectives on places that are in perpetual shift such as the home, the landscape and the complexities of human relationships within these spheres. Hughes' paintings and drawings reference imagery from a variety of sources including the Internet, popular films, and other media sources.
Hughes received a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Georgia in 2006. His work has been exhibited in numerous venues including the Sons Museum, Kruishoutem, Belgium; Vanderbilt Project Space, Brooklyn, NY; and the Riverbend Gallery, New Orleans, LA.
A reception for the artist will be held on Tuesday, October 17, from 4:30 – 6:00 PM in Dunbar Gallery. On Wednesday, October 18, the artist will present a drawing demonstration from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Room154 of Dunbar Hall followed by an artist’s talk at 11 a.m. in the gallery. The public is invited to attend all activities. Dunbar Gallery is located on Hutchinson Street in Grambling, Louisiana.
