Catherine Calhoun

Associate Producer, Lagniappe

Catherine Calhoun is a junior Spanish Major and Communications Minor at the University of Louisiana Monroe, and plans on being a translator when she graduates.

Originally from West Monroe, she lives on campus for her first time "away" from home.

Catherine is very involved in the Wesley Foundation on campus and is part of the Warhawk Tennis Club. When not on campus, she volunteers at Foundry on Sunday mornings as part of the Foundry Kids team and teardown crew.

Catherine enjoys Disney movies, kayaking, and writing.

Saturday, October 21st, the Louisiana Food and Music Festival is back at the Downtown RiverMarket. This festival will begin at 10 a.m. and will continue the celebration of Louisiana culture until 4 p.m. with a variety of different Louisiana food, music, and vendors.

Louisiana Art and Folk Festival

The Louisiana Art and Folk Festival is ringing in its 62nd year of culture and history Saturday, October 14th, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The festival will take place in downtown Columbia on the Ouachita River.

The Northeast Louisiana Arts Council's third annual North Delta Food and Wine Festival kicks off Friday, October 13th, and stretches throughout the weekend to Sunday, October 15th. This festival will pair choice drinks, rich food, and live music.

The North Central Louisiana Arts Council is brining together art and beer lovers alike for the eighth annual ARToberfest. ARToberfest will take place at The Norton Building in Ruston from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The National Wildlife Refuge Week comes to a close Saturday, October 14th, and Black Bayou Wildlife Refuge will be ending it with its twentieth annual Fall Celebration. The celebration will begin at 8 a.m. with a fun run/walk and other activities beginning at 10 a.m.

Tuesday, October 10th, kicks off the second annual Coca-Cola Week at the Biedenharn Museum and Gardens. This week will be filled with coke related activities for all ages and special opportunities for visitors.
