Student artists are hard at work creating giant wooden Christmas cards to be displayed downtown in Monroe.

The art program at the University of Louisiana at Monroe has joined together with Monroe Renaissance and local area schools to participate in a competition creating these over-sized cards to win cash prizes for art supplies for local schools.

Brooke Foy, assistant professor of art at ULM, says that projects like these are a great way to bring local artists together.

"All the schools do their best, they work really hard on these," she says.
