Tayler Davis is a  senior Political Science major  at the University of Louisiana at Monroe . She has minor in communications which drew her in to broadcasting.She works as student reporter at KEDM.

Tayler was  also  an intern at KNOE 8 NEWS before becoming apart of the KEDM family. She is currently working as a reporter for the Hawkeye newspaper on ULM's campus. When she is not being a journalist or broadcasting the news segment on the radio, she works at JPMORGAN Chase as a teller. 

 In her spare time, she enjoys hanging with family and friends, traveling,  watching movies and doing crafts from Pinterest.

Suspect Joshua Van-buren has been identified in connection to the West Monroe shooting Wednesday night. West Monroe Police says the incident occurred on Orange Street after an argument broke out

West Monroe Police says Van-buren exited his vehicle and approached the unidentified individual.  The two then exchanged gun fire at each other. Three women and a child were nearby, but no one was injured.

Van-buren has been taken into custody and charged with attempted second degree murder. No bond has been set.

The state wildlife agent who was shot five times last month in Morehouse Parish is scheduled to be released from a Shreveport hospital. 25–year- old Tyler Wheeler was shot after questioning a motorist.

Doctors have been calling Wheeler "the miracle patient" says Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries spokesperson Adam Einck , and is expected to make a full recovery. Wheeler’s father says doctors are pleased with his overall condition. Einck says that after being discharged Wheeler will rehabilitate in a facility in Mississippi.

 St. Francis Medical  Center  has announced  they will  combine  services from St. Francis Medical Center- North , located on Highway 165 North  in Monroe to other locations.

 On  November 1. The North Campus office , out patient facility will be closed.

 Kristin Wolkart, St. Francis Medical Center President and CEO says, " We simply can’t afford to provide primary access from two acute care locations. While we receive some of the lowest Medicaid and uncompensated care reimbursement" 


Ouachita Parish Investigators have arrested Calvin E. Braswell, Jr. after issuing a search warrant for his residence on Monday.

The search warrant has led to the recovery of several reported previously stolen items and illegal narcotics.

He was also previously arrested in August for possession of stolen items after deputies recovered a stolen Airstream trailer from his residence.

Braswell is alleged to have stolen firearms, lawn equipment and other items.

He has been booked in OCC. The investigation continues and more charges are expected.

Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo and Monroe Police Chief Quentin Holmes have agreed to donate two used Police units to the Grambling State University Police Department. The donation was approved at the last Monroe City Council meeting.

The two Ford Crown Victoria vehicles were previously used for patrol by the Monroe Police Department. 

Mayor Mayo says, “This donation will help strengthen ties between universities and the city.”
