Sunday, May 7th, the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council is holding its twentieth annual Blend of the Bayou fundraiser. This event will be held at the home of Dr. Walter and Sue Sartor at 2110 Island Drive from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Barry Stevens of the NELA Arts Council shares that the goal of the council is to, "support sustainable growth of the arts in our region." The NELA Arts Council has helped support different events around the community including recent ones such as the Simply Sinatra concert and the Ballet Under the Stars. This support is raised through state grants and local fundraisers.
Blend of the Bayou is one of the local fundraisers to help support arts in the region. This event will include food and drinks from Men Who Cook and Men Who Mix along with music by the Mason Grenade Band. There will also be a silent art auction including work from 18 different artists.
