Louisiana officials say DNA links an Avoyelles Parish inmate to a rape 20 years ago.

Forty-one-year-old Lorenoza Danela Carlos is serving 20 years for a holdup committed in 2004. KPLC-TV reports that he was arrested Nov. 15 on a charge of aggravated rape.

That attack was in Lake Charles in 1997. Deputy Chief Mark Kraus says Lake Charles police began re-investigating the case in May.

Kraus says the attacker climbed in through a window while a woman was asleep, pulled a knife and tied her hands before assaulting her. He says the DNA was re-tested in July, and matched that of Carlos.
