Cotton Valley Mayor Arrested for Felony Abuse of Power

Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Shreveport Field Office (LSP/SFO) have arrested Joseph Alexander, Mayor of Cotton Valley, Louisiana. Alexander was charged with felony abuse of power.

LSP/SFO received information from the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office requesting LSP’s assistance. On two different occasions in 2017, Alexander is accused of mishandling town funds.

Information obtained from the investigation led to an arrest warrant for Alexander. He was arrested and booked into the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center by LSP.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
