Deputies have charged a man found to be in possession of more than 100 ecstasy pills and more than 92 grams of marijuana.

The Houma Courier reports 36-year-old Rahmoad Lee Thigpen, of Baton Rouge, was arrested Monday after Lafourche Parish Sheriff's deputies pulled Thigpen over just after midnight, smelled burning marijuana and searched his car.

Thigpen has been charged with possession with intent to distribute MDMA and marijuana, possession of Xanax, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a legend drug without prescription, carrying a weapon in the presence of controlled dangerous substances and not having a license plate light.

Sheriff Craig Webre says Thigpen had an AR-15 rifle and two pistols with extended magazines.

He's being held in jail on a $55,500 bail. It's unclear whether he has a lawyer.
