EL DORADO GOES MAD - If you haven't heard already, Something really big is happening in El Dorado, Arkansas, it's a thing called MAD, which stands for Murphy Arts District, aimed at revitalizing downtown El Dorado. And here to explain more is Bob Tarren, MAD's Chief Marketing Officer."We are building ultimately a $100 million-dollar project in downtown El Dorado. It's going to consist in phase 1 an 8,000-plus person outdoor amphitheater complete with a farmers market kiosk, and a beautiful stage. New turf, it's absolutely beautiful." Also included in the revitalization effort is a 2,000 person music hall which will occupy the historic Griffin Auto Company building which used to be where Model T Ford automobiles were assembled back in the day. Terran added, "Attached to that is a beautiful restaurant, the Griffin is a farm-to-table restaurant where all the produce are grown in Arkansas with the exception of the seafood which comes from the delta." The Murphy Arts District will have a grand opening with a series of A-list performances by the likes of: Natasha Bedingfield who will open for TRAIN on Wednesday, September 28th. ZZ Top with X Ambassadors, Robert Randolph and The Family Shine and Ludacris will perform on September 29th. country artists Brad Paisley, Hunter Hayes, Chase Bryant, and Ashley McBride perform on September 30th as will Atlanta based Southern Hip-Hop Trio: MIGOS. Smokey Robinson will perform with the South Arkansas Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, October 1st.
