Finishing Strong at Read Strong

Cj Sartor
This summer, OPPL encouraged the community to Build a Better World.

Saturday, August 5th, the Ouachita Parish Public Library System will be ending its summer reading program with the Read Strong event from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Read Strong encourages readers of all ages to come out to any of the Ouachita Parish Library branches and read to help reach the library's goal of 50,000 read pages logged in the summer reading program.

This year, readers will be provided a free lunch during the end-of-summer celebration. Readers will also have the opportunity to read in honor of a teacher. At the end of the Read Strong event, each branch will draw a teacher's name to win a $100 Scholastic gift card provided by the Friends of the Library Program. This prize will allow local teachers to build up their own classroom libraries.

Read Strong is the last day to log summer reading pages. For more information call the Library at 327-1490.
