A CAREER IN FOREIGN SERVICE: The Chancellor’s Speaker Series at LSUS will host career Foreign Service Officer Richard H. Jones at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29 in the Science Lecture Auditorium. As a retired US ambassador, Richard H. Jones has spent nearly 38 years in public service, including 32 years as a US Foreign Service Officer.  He has served as U.S. Ambassador in Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Kuwait and Israel.  he will speak about what the U.S. State Department does,  his experiences as a diplomat and how those in the foreign service work to keep the world a safer place.  The event is free to the public and for more information, go to: http://www.lsus.edu/news-and-events

Chuck Smith brings more than 30 years' experience to Red River Radio having started out as a radio news reporter and moving into television journalism as a newsmagazine producer / host, talk-show moderator, programming director and managing producer and news director / anchor for commercial, public broadcasting and educational television. He has more recently worked in advertising, marketing and public relations as a writer, video producer and media consultant. In pursuit of higher learning, Chuck studied Mass Communications at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and motion picture / television production at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also taught writing for television at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and video / film production at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport.
