Health Fair Highlights Regional Services

nedeltahsa.org

A health fair recognizing services and resources for those affected by certain disorders and disabilities is Saturday at Forsythe Park in Monroe.

Northeast Delta Human Services Authority assists individuals affected by behavorial, mental, and addictive disorders and those with developmental disabilities.  "Our vision is an intergrated health care system," says Clinical Services Director Martha Philips.

Michelle Conti, developmental disabilities waiver manager, says many times individuals are not sure about what is available to them.  "They think well, I may not qualify for financial assistance, but our services are based on disability and what can be provided to them," she said.

Information tables are accompanied by family-friendly activities including a space walk, games, and a short Zumba program for all ages.  A special concert is performed by Monroe native and "The Voice: Season 7" finalist Damien Lawson.  The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
