Heavy Rains Will Plague Louisiana This Weekend

The National Weather Service is expecting heavy rains through Sunday evening

Heavy rainfall is expected along the Gulf Coast this weekend. A wave of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico has been stalled over Louisiana and Mississippi for the last few days.

A wet weekend is in store for Louisiana

Heaviest rainfall totals up to 10 inches are expected in the southern parishes. Northern Louisiana may receive 3 to 6 inches of rain from this system.

Showers and thunderstorms will pop up and could become severe. Low area flooding will occur and flash flooding may be a possibility with this system.

Rain is projected to stay in the forecast into next week.
