Hunter Killed in Union Parish

A hunter in Union Parish was killed in a fatal A. T. V. accident. The Union Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed that the man was killed on Sunday after the A. T. V. he was riding flipped over.

The accident happened Sunday afternoon in Marion, Louisiana.  

Sheriff Dusty Gates says 55-year-old Robert Michael Phillips from Arizona was hunting and was killed in the accident.

It is thought that Phillips died instantly when the vehicle rolled over onto him while traversing a hill. He was from Spring Valley, Arizona.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
