Janus Reigns Over The Twin Cities

2017 Krewe of Janus Parade Map

The Krewe of Janus Parade will roll through the streets of the Twin Cities this weekend. The parade starts at 6:00 pm in West Monroe and then crosses into Monroe via the Lee Joyner Bridge. 

The theme for this years parade is Around the World with Janus. 

The Grand Marshal of the parade is Dillon Day. Day is a tackle for the Denver Broncos and played football at West Monroe High School.

The Krewe of Janus was established in 1984. It was organized by the Twin Cities’ Jaycees and became an independent organization in 1989.

The Krewe of Janus promotes tourism in the Twin Cities of Monroe and West Monroe, LA by sponsoring and conducting a Mardi Gras Parade each year. 
 
This Parade has been recognized as one of the top 20 tourism events in the south for several years.  The 2016 parade drew more the 175,000 revelers to the streets of the Twin Cities.
 

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
