Krewe of Janus to Cruise Through Town

www.kreweofjanusonline.com
The Krewe of Janus for the Twin Citeis began in 1984.

Saturday, February 18th the Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade will take place at 6:00 p.m. The floats will make their way through downtown West Monroe and Monroe throughout the course of the night.

While the main parade does not start until 6:00 p.m. Saturday night, Mardi Gras activities will be going on throughout the day. There will be a Kid's Parade at the Pecanland Mall starting at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Pet Parade at 2:00 p.m. in downtown West Monroe.

The Krewe of Janus's Twin City Mardi Gras Parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. starting at Natchitoches in West Monroe and will make many twists and turns throughout the night. Every float rider provides about $300 worth of beads as a starting amount.

The Krewe of Janus doesn't just pop up during Mardi Gras season, though, its members are involved in community service all year long. This summer the Krewe will be working with kids at Camp Quality. This year's King and Queen also go to local schools to share about the history of Mardi Gras.
