Local Author Reaches Out to Readers

Jackie Garrison

Jackie Garrison is a local, self published author. Her book, Timeline Memoirs of a Bipolar Christian, that will be published in January, tells the story of her mood swings, manic highs, and depressive lows.

Garrison's writing tackles the stigma against bipolar disorder. She hopes that through her honesty other people that struggle with mood altering disorders will be able to go seek help. She wrote the book with the purpose to help others because when she went through her episode she felt as if she wasn't helping anyone.

Timeline Memoirs of a Bipolar Christian also focuses on how Garrison's behavioral changes effected more than just herself. Garrison explains that, "My kids didn't know what kind of mom they would get." The book also highlights the need for psychiatric assistance.
