Louisiana Spends The Most Money On Super Bowl Sunday

Now that the NFL playoffs have come and gone, it’s time to get ready for the biggest sporting event of the year - Super Bowl LII. Every year hundreds to thousand of dollars are spent for this event. Whether it be food, sports paraphernalia, etc., U.S consumers tend to spend a little more money during this time.

Offers.com surveyed over 1,000 consumers across the U.S. to dig into top Super Bowl spending trends, food favorites and more to find out how people will be celebrating this year’s Super Bowl. It was discovered that the average consumer spends $51.68 on Super Bowl related purchases ,which is an increase of 40% from last year’s $37 spending average.

Statewide, Louisiana will be spending more money than any other state in the country this Super Bowl season.  Consumers admitted to spending $71.42 on average to make their Superbowl viewing parties a success. Most citizens of the state said their favorite party food was pizza at 44 percent, followed by wings, dip, and nachos. Ranch was the top favorite for favorite dip during the Super Bowl.

As for the actual game, only 38 percent of Louisiana consumers will be watching the showdown. 21 percent of consumers only care about the commercials.
