Twenty-one-year old missing LSU student found.

The death of a Louisiana State University student who was reported missing and later found dead has been ruled a suicide.

East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner William "Beau" Clark said Monday that 21-year-old Michael Nickelotte Jr. died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Officials say the investigation into his death will remain closed unless further details emerge.

News outlets report that Nickelotte was last seen on Sept. 18 at his residence at East Campus Apartments, leaving behind his cell phone, computer, wallet and car keys. Authorities say hunters found Nickelotte's body in a wooded area Friday, and that his death likely occurred not long after his disappearance.

Nola.com/The Times-Picayune reports Nickelotte was a senior and a ROTC student who aspired to be a Marine.
