Man Indicted for Allegedly Shooting into Natchez Home

An Adams County man has been indicted for allegedly shooting into the residence of his housekeeper.

62-year-old Donald Lynn Lane was indicted Wednesday on charges of attempt to commit offense (murder) and shooting into a dwelling.

Adams County Sheriff's Office Major Jerry Brown says that on Jan. 6, Lane went to his housekeeper's home in Natchez. Lane accused the victim of stealing money from him.

The victim said she was afraid that Lane was under the influence of some substance, so she went back inside her home.

Brown says Lane then fired three shots into the front door of the home. Three people were inside at the time, including a child, but no one was injured.

Deputies responded and arrested Lane. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
