Mardi Gras Block Party Scheduled For Feb. 3

The Downtown River Jam Series announced their upcoming Mardi Gras Block Party scheduled for Saturday, February 3. The party will take place at multiple bars in downtown Monroe, La.

 

There will be free beer samples and New Orleans style cuisine available for purchase. The Mardi Gras Block Party is a free event and festivities will begin at Flying Tiger Brewery, then continue down to the downtown music stage ,and finish the night at Live Oaks Bar & Ballroom. Featured artists will include Jordan Sheppard, a local singer-songwriter from Ouachita parish, and The Stooges Brass Band, an award-winning New Orleans based band.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
