Well Worn Truths is the Masur Museum of Art's latest exhibition featuring depictions of the human body.

Benjamin Hickey says the human body is a beautiful work of art that should be explored from different perspectives.

"We like to pair people with objects and create real experiences," says Hickey, curator of collections and exhibitions at the Masur Museum of Art.

The Masur Museum of Art is hosting a panel discussion for its latest exhibition, Well Worn Truths, that features depictions of the human body in contemporary art.

"We're trying to encourage people to come out and have an authentic experience with the art and other people," Hickey says.

The exhibition displays artwork from local and nationwide artists, some of which will be present to discuss their work.

We're trying to encourage people to come out and have an authentic experience with the art and other people.

"Some of them are not widely known but it was important for us to provide a wide spectrum of perspectives, rather than focus on someone's reputation," Hickey says.

Hickey says the exhibition's curatorial process will be discussed too, explaining how the artwork was chosen and why it ties in with the others.

The event takes place at the Masur Museum of Art in Monroe on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 5:30 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.

The event is free and no registration is required. For more information, contact the Masur Museum of Art at 318-329-2237 or info@masurmuseum.org.
