Monroe Annual Christmas Tree Lighting This Weekend

Annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony to be held Saturday.

The public is invited to come celebrate the annual lighting ceremony of Monroe's Christmas tree this Saturday, November 18. The ceremony will be at the Monroe Civic Center Plaza starting at 6 p.m.

Cookies and hot drinks will be provided to the public and also Santa Claus will be riding through after the lighting of the tree and he will be giving away candy to kids. There will be live music performed by J.S. Clark Elementary Choir.

Monroe City Mayor Jamie Mayo is expected to be in attendance. Also expect to see Miss Monroe pageant winners around the festivities spreading the holiday joy.
