Monroe's Music Leaves Listeners Haunted

Monroe Symphony Orchestra
The concert includes music from Disney's Fantasia.

The Monroe Symphony Orchestra opened its season with Hauntingly Beautiful Music on Saturday October 22 at 7 p.m. at the W.L. Jack Howard Theatre of the Monroe Civic Center.

This opening concert rings in the Halloween holiday by encouraging guest to come dressed in their Halloween costumes. The musicians will also be dressed in their Halloween attire.

The Monroe Symphony is made up of artist from all over North Louisiana and South Arkansas. Season tickets will be for sale online and at the event, and there is a lot coming up including a holiday concert in December, a clarinet concert in February, and a Sinatra concert in March.

Executive director, Magan Bass, praises the symphony saying, "We are so fortunate to have an organization like this in the Monroe area." Most cities the size of Monroe do not have their own symphony, and the staff at Monroe Symphony understand the gift the orchestra is to the community.
