Richwood High Lockdown Lifted; No Weapon Found on Campus

Update 1:21pm

The lockdown at Richwood High School has been lifted.  No gun was found on campus.  OPSO continues investigation into boys involved in argument Thursday that may have led to intial call about possible weapon.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff's deputies are at Richwood High School, investigating a report of a weapon on campus.

The school is on lockdown as deputies conduct a sweep of the building.

Ouachita Parish Schools Superintendent Bob Webber says the sheriff's department received an anonymous call Friday morning that a student was going to bring a gun to school.  He says the caller told authorities the weapon would be in the freshman wing of the campus.  "The sheriff's department did exactly what they always do.  They were out here quickly, locked the school down.  So far, nothing has been found," said Webber.

The report of a student planning to bring a weapon to school stems from an argument between two boys that occurred Thursday.  Deputies have determined the student who reportedly was to bring the gun is not on campus today.
