Public Art Project in Lake Eola, Florida.

KEDM hosts Policy and a Pint today at 6:00 p.m.  The topic of discussion is public art.

Anne Bloxom Smith of the Monroe Garden District Alliance serves as a panelist in the discussion. Smith said the Garden District could be enhanced by public art projects but they must meet historical and community standards.

Smith said the biggest problem with public art is upkeep. She says the care of public art must be thought about before art is installed.

Policy and a Pint begins with a meet and greet at 5:30 p.m.  and discussion at 6:00 p.m.

The event is hosted by The Pickle Barrel on Avenue of America in Monroe.

Originally from Monroe, Cory has worked in a variety of media. He has worked in television news and spent seven years as a TV sports play-by-play announcer. He was also creative director for a television advertising department and worked extensively as a photojournalist. Cory has lived in both Dallas and New Orleans.
