Technology Company Brings Two Thousand Jobs to New Orleans

Nov 14, 2017

Governor John Bel Edwards announced that two-thousand new jobs will be created as DXC Technology will open a digital transformation center in January of 2018 in New Orleans. Edwards says this project has been in the works for over two years and is a great addition to the state.

DXC is a Virginia based information technology company. Edwards says Louisiana Economic Development estimates that another 2,257 indirect jobs will be created from this project. He says the two-thousand direct jobs will pay an average salary of 63-thousand dollars plus benefits and the economic benefits are unmatched.

"From 2018 to 2025 this project will generate more than $64 million dollars in Louisiana taxes, and total economic output of more than $3.2 billion dollars," says Edwards.

Edwards says Louisiana will invest $25 million in higher education grants through the Louisiana State University, University of Louisiana, and Technical and Community College Systems to ensure qualified workers can fill these new positions. He says this project is one of the most significant economic development announcements in Louisiana history.
