Two State Police Cadet Classes for the First Time Since 2005

ACLU
Cadets gear up for intense training.

For the first time since 2005, two state police cadet classes will run simultaneously. Aspiring troopers have reported for the 97th cadet class with 49 individuals. The 96th class has entered their 11th week of training. Sgt. Jared Sandifer says both classes are going through an intense training program.

Sandifer says people across the state should be happy that many are still willing to join the ranks and help serve them.

Sandifer says even though there will be two different classes, the end result will be the same.

After graduation, troopers will participate in a 10-14 week field training program before beginning their new careers.
