Remember our veterans

The Lake Charles VA Community Outpatient Clinic recently opened a 24-thousand-square-foot office. Director of the Alexandria VA System Pete Dancy says this will expand care for some seven-thousand in the Lake Charles area with 26-hundred vets actively using VA services.

The closest outpatient facility prior to the opening was in Jennings.  Vets also had the option of traveling to Fort Polk.  Dancy says if they can’t give the services that are needed, the VA doctors will be able to use other resources nearby.

Dancy says this has been a facility ten years in the making. They started with a mobile clinic in 2011, expanding to an interim clinic 2015.  Dancy says now the VA can focus on giving Vets the care they need and deserve.
