Ever wanted to participate in the traditional Spanish Running of the Bulls? "Bulls in the Streets" is a safer alternative in Downtown Monroe. The joint fundraiser for the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum and Roe City Rollers is Saturday, June 9 at the Flying Tiger Brewery.

Run for the Red, White, and Blue, a fundraiser held annually for the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, is May 26.

Food, music, and activities are available for the whole family. Tours of the Museum will take place during and after the 5k and 1k events. You can also participate in the Red, White, & Blue Memorial Balloon Release.

Show Care Through A Cookbook This Holiday Season

The time has come for the annual Southern Living Holiday Cookbook to return to Dillard's. The cookbook will be sold for only ten dollars, and it is filled with holiday and year round recipes.  

As always the proceeds from this cookbook go to help fund the Ronald McDonald House in Monroe. Monroe's house has been serving families since November 1985, and is the smallest community to have a Ronald McDonald House.

Stepping Up Against Alzheimer's

Tuesday July 18, the Walk to End Alzheimer's is holding a team recruitment party at 6:30 p.m. at Azalea Estates Assisted Living for people interested in helping with the walk in November. 

The Walk to End Alzheimer's will be held November 4. This organization raises awareness about Alzheimer's as well as funds to find a cure to this disease. Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, and an estimated 85,000 people are diagnosed with this disease in Louisiana alone. 

KEDM's Craft Festiv-ALE at Tonore's

KEDM and Tonore's Wine Cellar are hosting the Craft Festiv-ALE beer tasting from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at Tonore's for a twenty dollar donation to KEDM.

This craft beer tasting will include local, national, and imported brands. Russell Kicey, owner of Tonore's, shares that there will be beers that guest are familiar with and some they may have never heard of before. There will be appetizers served along with the beers.
