March is Irish-American Heritage Month, and St. Patrick's Day is March 17. To celebrate, the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual St. Paddy's Day Bicycle Parade & Festival from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Kiroli Park.

The parade and festival celebrate the rich Irish heritage present in the Northeast Louisiana region. The event features live Irish music from Emerald Accent. There are costume contests for all ages, as well as pets and bikes. The bike parade rolls around noon.

St. Patrick's Day, March 17th Enoch's Irish Pub and Cafe is hosting the 12th annual fundraiser for the St. Vincent DePaul Community Pharmacy. 

Joann Crone of  St. Vincent DePaul Community Pharmacy shares that the mission of the pharmacy is, " to provide prescription medication free of charge to those that have no other means of acquiring it." Since it opened in April 1999, the pharmacy has given away 20 million dollars worth of free medication.

The luck of the Irish and the generosity of all take hold in the 10th Annual St. Vincent DePaul Society fundraising event.  Proceeds of the St. Patrick's Day event at Enoch's Irish Pub support the St. Vincent De Paul Community Pharmacy.

"The pharmacy provides medicine and medical supplies to those who simply cannot afford some basic prescriptions and products," says society member Jo Ann Crone.  "This event provides much needed support to operate the pharmacy year-round."
