Special exhibits and singing guests are featured in a Downtown Gallery Crawl Thursday.
Seven galleries in Monroe and West Monroe open their doors after hours in the special event to kick off summer. "It's about advancing the arts and the development of the downtown districts of Monroe and West Monroe," says Ann Bloxom-Smith, communications consultant for the Downtown Arts Alliance.
Local artists present exhibits throughout each of the participating galleries. A special appearance is made by singers from the Louisiana Opera's upcoming production of "The Barber of Seville". They will stroll the streets and galleries performing some Broadway songs for visitors of the crawl.
The crawl is 5-9 p.m. Thursday. Food and beverage are provided at several galleries during the evening.
