Create Louisiana, an ongoing effort to support and develop creative industries of the state and showcase their contributions, has announced the 2016 Create Louisiana Filmmakers Grant.
In partnership with the Louisiana Endowment For The Humanities, the New Orleans Film Society, and Create Louisiana, production teams may apply for the $50,000 grant towards creating a short film.
"We wanted to structure the initiative to give back to a local filmmaker," says Jolene Pinder, executive director of the New Orleans Film Society. The campaign is being promoted through social media and development programs.
Applications will open in August. Film projects would be completed within 12 months of receiving the award, with the finished project set to screen at the 2016 New Orleans Film Festival.
