Saturday, March 11th the Louisiana Delta Ballet is putting on its 10th annual Dancing with the Louisiana Stars fundraisers. This dancing competition, based on the popular Dancing with the Stars TV series, will be held at the Monroe Civic Center at 7 p.m. preceded by a pre- party at 6 p.m. Dancing with the Louisiana Stars pairs 'local celebrities' with dancers from the Louisiana Delta Ballet.
For the 10th anniversary edition of this fundraiser, Louisiana Delta ballet is having past winners compete. This year's competitors are Hollis Conway, two-time Olympic medalist, motivational speaker, and director of the Northeast Louisiana Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Linnea Fayard Aleen, Miss Louisiana 1990, Billy Justice, Director of Marketing and Sales at Vantage Health Plan, Captain Tommy Lewis, commander of Louisiana State Police Troop F, Dr. Brent Vidrine, Superintendent of the Monroe City Schools, and Brian West, former pitcher for the Chicago White Sox Organization. Mike Walsworth, Mayor Jamie Mayo, Tommy Usrey, Clinton Downing and Janelle Snellings will be judging 'The Best of the Best'.
