The Ouachita Parish Public Library will be hosting the Hampstead Stage Company’s performances of Pinocchio Monday, June 26th. There will be one performance at the Ouachita Valley Branch in West Monroe at 10:30 a.m., and another performance at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Branch in Monroe.
Pinocchio is the tale of Geppetto, a woodcutter, who carves a boy out of wood. The wooden boy wishes to become a real boy, and the play follows his journey as a 'real boy'. The Hampstead Stage Company is a non-profit professional theatre company. The company encourages the audience to interact with the two actors that take on the roles of all the characters in the play. The company performs over 2,000 shows across the United States every year.
Pinocchio is a free event at the library for kids of all ages. More information on Pinocchio and the Hampstead Stage Company can be found here. More information on the Ouachita Parish Public Libraries can be found by calling 327-1490.
