Paintings by Pam Gale Hallman depicting the fauna of Lake D'Arbonne will be displayed Nov. 12-29, along with several animal mounts. Opening reception for the exhibit will be Nov. 12, 5 to 6:30 p.m. Exhibit times: Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving Day. Free admission.

Sip & Stroll through Downtown West Monroe at the annual Champagne Stroll. This lively event will feature specialty shopping & deals after dark with champagne along the way!

Get into the Christmas spirit by joining The Trove for ornament painting! On November 21st, artist Catherine Oswalt will guide painters through the process of creating their own unique ornament for the holidays.

Candy Cane Lane will light the night this holiday season starting November 8th. The 1.25 mile wooded drive decorated with over one million lights open nightly through January 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Guests can enjoy hayrides November 22 though December 28. Guests can see the lights arranged in variety of displays, including a drive-through lighted tunnel.

ARTIFACT IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM
AT POVERTY POINT WORLD HERITAGE SITE

Have you found any artifacts on your property or other private lands? Are you unsure of what you’ve found? On Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, visitors are invited to share their finds as part of an Artifact ID program at Poverty Point World Heritage Site. On-site specialists will help you better understand the artifacts you find in your fields or along the banks of waterways. Please remember that artifacts should only be ethically collected on private property with the landowner’s written permission.

This program will be offered from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Participants should check in at the museum for this special program before heading to our Archaeology Lab for the identification experience! If you want a more itemized program, please do bring small plastic bags to separate the artifacts, sharpies to mark the bags, along with a pen and paper to takes notes.

Poverty Point World Heritage Site offers visitors the unique opportunity to experience and learn about the earthworks and those individuals who raised them from the ground between the years of 1700 and 1100 BCE. The $4 admission fee provides access to the museum, film theatre, hiking trail, driving tour, tram tour, and any interpretive events taking place at the site. Children (3 and under) and senior citizens (62 and over) are admitted free of charge.
