Investigation Shows Townhouse Construction Legal

An investigation into townhouses being constructed at the corner of Lamy Lane and Broadmoor Boulevard has found  the structures are legally permitted.

The investigation launched by Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo, and headed by the city's Chief Operations Officer Jimmie Bryant, found that Kingsport Corporation is building the townhouses legally.  The results were shared during a community meeting Thursday night.

Several residents of a neighborhood that borders the townhouse complex were in attendance.  A few questioned the focus of the investigation referring to zoning ordinances over the construction.  Bryant said the project appears to meet both old and new ordinances.
