Area gardeners can find a large assortment of vegetable transplants and herbs this weekend during the Northeast Louisiana Master Gardeners Annual Spring Plant Sale.
Popular varieties of tomatoes are available, including some the are new this year. "We have a fooled you jalapeno tomato that has the flavor of the pepper, without the heat," says Master Gardener board member Christy Francis.
Several Louisiana Super Plants, as selected by the LSU Ag Center, are available this weekend. "One of the popular items is the drift roses," said Francis. The Super Plant designation is given to those plants that have displayed ideal growth as they've been monitored by the Ag Center.
The sale is Friday and Saturday at the Market on 7th Square in West Monroe.
