Nepalese students attending the University of Louisiana at Monroe conclude a donation drive for relief efforts in their homeland this Wednesday.
"The group has collected about $4,000 thus far," says Sami Owens, International Student Services and Program Director at ULM. She says donations can still be made at the International Student Office in the ULM Library through Wednesday morning.
The Nepalese Student Association presents a check to the American Red Cross Wednesday afternoon. Owens says the gift will be earmarked for direct assistance to Nepal, following an earthquake that devastated the region on April 25.
