Many children in Lincoln and surrounding parishes tap in to their creative side this week in summer art camps.
The sessions, hosted by North Central Louisiana Arts Council, feature two- and three-dimensional art, drama, and music. "The visual art classes are really about experimentation," says NCLAC Executive Director Jessica Slaughter. "They get to use a lot of different items in combination and see what happens," she said.
Camps are this week in Ruston, followed by sessions in Jonesboro and a second Ruston date in July.
The arts council also wraps up a major fund drive this Thursday. The announcement of a prize drawing winner caps Keep The Arts Afloat campaign. "This is a major project generating funds for program support through the council," said Slaughter.
