Officials to NELA: If Possible, Stay Home

Officials at all levels of government in northeast Louisiana have one message for residents: if you aren't taking care of emergency sandbagging, stay off the roads.

Sandbagging efforts continue at Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe and at Monroe Public Works on Grammont Street in Monroe.

Entergy reports over 1700 customers without power early Thursday morning. Officials urge extreme caution when dealing with downed trees and power lines, especially near flood waters.
