Organizations Feed Residents, Volunteers

Operation Barbeque Relief is partnering with Family Church in West Monroe, along with other church volunteers, to provide meals to northeast Louisiana residents affected by recent flooding.

Meals will be delivered at noon and 5 p.m. daily, beginning Monday, March 14.

  • Public Safety Building, 1810 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Monroe
  • Old Albertson's grocery store, U.S. 165 North at Forsythe Extension, Monroe
  • West Monroe High School Stadium, Travis Street in West Monroe
  • Bawcomville Boys and Girls Club, 509 Evergreen Street, West Monroe

Each location will have over one hundred meals distributed freely on a first come, first serve basis.

According to Operation BBQ Relief's Facebook page, the group expects to provide two thousand meals a day this week in northeast Louisiana.

Jay Curtis is a dynamic community leader who works to tell the unique stories of northeast Louisiana through news and music. Jay earned a Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV/Film Production from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and worked in video, feature film and television production for over 10 years before joining KEDM full time.
