The annual Wine Over Water event returns to the University of Louisiana Monroe campus again Thursday, March 31. The event featuring food, wine, beer, and music was created 11 years ago to help fund student scholarships.

This years event will feature over 40 different varieties of wine, many different beers, and music by Dr. Zarr's Funk Monsters. Due to Rain the event is moving from its usual location on the campus bridge to Ewing Coliseum at 7:30 p.m.

Before the main event, a patron's party will take place on the top floor of the library. Ticket sales are used to fund the Spirit of the Warhawk Scholarship.

"The Spirit of the Warhawk Scholarship is a scholarship designed for the northeast Louisiana parishes. There is a nine parish area that students are eligible for that scholarship. In order to be eligible for the scholarship you have to have a GPA requirement, and you also have to write an essay as to what the spirit of the warhawk means to you," says Underwood.

The event give patron a chance to support students in a unique way, as the scholarship is open ended, and can be spent for housing, books pr anything else the student may need.

The patron's party begins at 5:30 p.m. For tickets, visit the Wine Over Water website or call 342-5240.
