Chennault Museum Hosts Global Strike Force Commander

Major General Michael E. Fortney will speak at Brown Auditorium at the University of Louisiana Monroe  on Saturday, July 16 at 1 p.m. as part of the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum's speaker series.

Fortney serves under General Robin Rand, leading the U.S. Air Force Global Strike Force Command, based at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport. The Command is responsible for the nation's three intercontinental ballistic missile wings, the Air Force’s entire bomber force, to include B-52, B-1 and B-2 wings, the Long Range Strike Bomber program, and operational and maintenance support to organizations within the nation's nuclear systems.

The event is part of the Chennault Museum's quarterly speaker series. According to museum COO Judge Elvis Stout, due to the enormous amount of interest,  the event has been moved to the larger Brown Auditorium at the University of Louisiana Monroe.

"The crowd we anticipate for this event is just too large for the museum," explains Stout.

More information is available about the talk by General Fortney and the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum at the Museum's website or at 362-5540.
