April 2nd starting at Squire Creek Country Club, the Big Brothers Big Sisters program of Northeast Louisiana is hosting its annual fundraiser, the Peachy Keen Caper. This adult scavenger hunt will ride out with style in limousines, shuttle buses, and party buses all around Lincoln Parish.
This fundraiser is the only one Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Louisiana does for the year, and the proceeds go to help the organization continue bettering the lives of children. Jacquiela Dorsey, director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, shares that the goal of their outreach is to, " help children facing adversity through one on one mentoring".
Big Brothers Big Sisters in Northeast Louisiana works with six parishes in the region. There are 60 mentors in the program, and in 2016 they worked with 463 students from elementary to high school. The program focuses on giving the students opportunities to grow in their life skills, such as interpersonal communication.
The Peachy Keen Caper hunt will last from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. followed by a dinner. More information on this event can be found here.
