Tuesday, August 15th, the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum along with the Monroe Regional Airport are debuting a new exhibit in the Monroe Airport. This date also marks the anniversary of "The Spirit of the '45 Day", the day when peace was declared during World War 2.
This exhibit, "The History of Selman Field Navigation School", features images, footage, and artifacts from the Selman Army Airfield Navigation School. This was the largest navigation school in the country during World War 2. This new exhibit will allow anyone coming into Monroe to get a taste of the community's history, and encourage them to learn more at the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum.
The Chennault is also hosting a viewing party for the upcoming eclipse. The party will be held Monday, August 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum.
