If you're looking for a chance to get covered in color and support United Way's mission to improve communities, then September 23rd at 8:00 a.m. join the Vicksburg True Color Run. The third annual True Color Run will be held in downtown Vicksburg with registration beginning at 7:00 a.m. at 820 South Street.
The 2.45 mile run will go to support twenty agencies throughout parts of Warren, Sharkley, Claiborne, Issaquena, Yazoo, and Madison parish. Runners will be covered in colors by volunteers throughout the run, but the colors have more meaning than to simply decorate the runners. Each color represents a part of United Way's mission. Purple supports domestic violence victims, blue supports safe spaces for children, and green supports positive mental health.
After the run, participants can enjoy the after party in the Bancorp South parking lot where registration was held. The party will include food, music, and a color blast from the stage every half hour. The family friendly atmosphere is meant to show what it really means to Live United.
Runners or volunteers can register here or by calling 601-636-1733. If you want to donate but cannot run, donations can be made by texting COLORS to 71777.
