Taking Care to be Prepared

There are over a million members of Moose International.

The West Monroe Chapter of the Women of Moose  is collaborating with the Safe Surfin' organization to provide a free child and senior ID event. This free ID event will take place Friday, October 7th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the West Monroe Moose Lodge.

Women of Moose is part of Moose International. Cheryl Dye, secretary and treasurer of the West Monroe Chapter, shares, "Moose is an international organization of men and women dedicated to the care of the young and old, serving communities, and celebrating life." The West Monroe Women of Moose are carrying out this mission by holding the Free Child ID event.

This event is an opportunity for parents and loved ones of children to have their kid's fingerprints, height, and weight put on a disc to store away in case of an emergency. The ID services will also be offered to seniors that may tend to wander away from home. This service is a security measure in case a child or senior you love comes up missing. Having all of this information available to give to the police can significantly help in a situation where there is no time to waste.

The Women of Moose is also showing its love for the community through a Children's Halloween Party October 26th. The party will be held at the Moose from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free to attend, but will have food available for purchase.

More information on all that the Women of Moose do in the community can be found here.
