The National Wildlife Refuge Week comes to a close Saturday, October 14th, and Black Bayou Wildlife Refuge will be ending it with its twentieth annual Fall Celebration. The celebration will begin at 8 a.m. with a fun run/walk and other activities beginning at 10 a.m.

The Fall Celebration will have activities for all ages. Kids will get to do different nature arts and crafts including mud finger painting with the Masur Museum and leaf rubbings. There will also be face painters on site. For adults there will be canoeing and kayaking open for free all day. Friends of Black Bayou is also partnering with the Turkey Federation to bring a shooting gallery to the event. For lunch there will be a fish fry for all the guests complete with lemonade and Black Bayou Mud Pies.

All of the events during the celebration are free, except for the fun run. More information on the Fall Celebration can be found here.
