On December 15th, 2017 at 7 p.m., a brass quintet featuring the University of Louisiana Monroe’s Black Bayou Brass will present Christmas Brass Spectacular Concert to benefit the SOS Pets of Ouachita.
SOS Pets of Ouachita was formed by a group of individuals in the Ouachita Parish area who saw the need for a better shelter program for our animals. These individuals are working towards a no-kill, humane shelter to help accommodate animals waiting to be adopted.
The current shelter was built in the 1950s and has not received any major renovations since. Because of the system at the shelter, the spread of disease is impossible to control. The goal of SOS Pets of Ouachita is to bring the shelter into the future for the better of our animals and community.
This holiday concert will make you feel the spirit of the season with traditional, sacred and popular favorites. Dr. Aaron Witek, the associate trumpet professor at ULM, and wife Karen have organized the event in conjunction with SOS Pets of Ouachita. The concert will feature a brass quintet accompanied by Dr. Richard Seiler on organ. Members of the Black Bayou Brass will be performing in the concert.
Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children/students. Tickets are available now for early entry and preferred seating. Online ticket purchasers will be allowed entry when the doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door, but entry will be delayed until about 6:50 p.m.
